• Drill
• 1mm wood drill bit
• 11mm wood drill bit
• Cloth [for covering the insert while using the hammer]
• Hammer [for lightly tapping the insert into place]
• Phillips-Head Screwdriver

The flush mount insert can be installed in all guitars including acoustic guitars that have the head and tail blocks. Certain locations will require shorter wood screws that can be found at your local hardware store.

 

STEP 1:

Drilling the initial hole with the 1mm bit: 

The total length is approximately 28mm, this would include the insert and the screw included in the kit. As mentioned above, some locations will require shorter screws so you will need to measure for accuracy.

 

STEP 2:

Drilling the 11mm hole: 

Be sure to only drill a length of the insert body which is approx. 12mm. DO NOT include the outer top lip or the diamonds at the base when measuring the body for accuracy.

 

STEP 3:

Place the insert into the hole, cover the top with a cloth and lightly tap the insert down with the hammer. By doing this the diamonds in the base will be pushed into the wood which will prevent the insert front moving side to side.

 

STEP 4:

Add the wood screw, this will prevent it from coming out.
